ALWAYS TAKE THE SIMPLER CHOICE - NOT THE EASY CHOICE…
Experience tells me that everything in life is really simple. Our minds understand and like simplicity, but we have been conditioned to create twists and turns to complicate a situation, which was never intended to be complicated to begin with. And then we wonder, why we face failure…
This applies to no matter what it is in life that we are faced with. Just shift your thinking process, and see your life unfold…
Example 1:
- When a somewhat difficult, out of the ordinary situation arises, the first step is to continue being calm no matter what. This enables the mind to work at its best and understand the possible solutions.
- You may see the solution right away or you may break the situation further down into steps to comprehend it completely.
- You may or may not be comfortable with the outcome of the understanding of the situation. But at this point there are only 2 simple choices – a) grasp the situation and go with the solution no matter how uncomfortable it is, knowing that this is the optimal solution b) resist the situation in spite of the obvious solution. This leads to no solution and one continues to stay muddled in the issue creating dissatisfaction and prolonged misery.
Example 2:
- You have to communicate with someone, who for some reason is in a bad mood and does not have the awareness to not perpetuate their bad mood on to others. During the communication the person comes across rudely, saying words that would have been better left unsaid.
- At this point there should be no dilemma for you, for the choice to be made is simple. You stay quiet letting the person become spent, maintaining your calmness. When the person creates a breathing room, you politely tell them to relax, (do not allow yourself to be affected since the rudeness has nothing to do with you.) and asking how can you be of help to them! Believe it or not this disarms the other person instantly, and they are left wondering what happened! They realize their own rudeness and apologize without your asking for any apology. Simple explanation: In an average human being rudeness begets more rudeness, but in a consciously aware human, rudeness begets even more calmness. I was faced with a situation like this, and the person became profuse with apology. She apologized for her attitude! And all because I chose not to react to her rudeness.
Example 3:
- You need to take an action on something. Yes this action will take some analysis, some effort and some energy. There are 2 choices you are faced with: a) take the bull by its horn, and act on it, and enjoy the fruit. b) Procrastinate, be lazy, waste time and then suffer from the consequences of inaction.
ALWAYS TAKE THE SIMPLER CHOICE (NOT THE EASY CHOICE) THAT IS EFFECTIVE AND PRODUCCES RESULTS.
A CHOICE MADE OUT OF LAZINESS IS NEVER SIMPLE, FOR THE OUTCOME IS FAR TOO COMPLICATED, COMPLICATING LIFE FURTHER. :)
