Preparing to leave our Mother Earth…Do tomorrow’s work today; today’s work now...
What would you do if you were told you had 24 hours to live? How would you prepare for our ultimate event on this earth?
I believe we would take care of the most critical things on our list which we may not have been able to do for any number of reasons...mostly procastintion...
We would ensure that our loved ones were aware how much we love them. We would make sure that those who were dependent on us were taken care of in so many different ways.
The critical question is: Do we need to wait to find out that we do not have much time left on this earth before we start acting on what we should have done all along while LIVING?
Those of us would be fortunate who had taken care during living that there were no regrets, that there were no burdens still weighing us down, that is we would have taken care to lighten our “load” as we journeyed through life instead of waiting until the last minute. We would have spent time with all those we cared for, and we would have made sure that we were not stingy with caring, kind and loving words. We would be grateful for this time given to us on this earth to make a difference. We would make sure that we did not waste time in mundane things in life. We would not spend time holding grudges, being unforgiving, being spiteful and unkind. We would not just run after money, forgetting to follow our dream and passions, knowing that following passions and dreams with action paves the way for money to come in. We would make sure that we kept our mind and body clean for goodness that inherently resides in each one of us, to flow through and drench us as well as those surrounding us. We would lead a life of meaning.
So what are we waiting for? Why don’t we really start living? Why don’t we become burden free now, by stopping procrastination and doing all that we have been postponing for trivial reasons?
Life is for living. We need to live as if there is no tomorrow, loving and giving, and lightening ourselves, taking care of the critical things now and not later.
All this is so very well said in the following Kabir Doha:
"Kaal Kare So Aaj Kar, Aaj Kare So Ub
Pal Mein Pralaya Hoyegi, Bahuri Karoge Kub?"
Translated as:
"Do tomorrow’s work today; today’s work now
If the current moment, the now, is lost, how/when will the work get done?"
If we die the next moment, or the next day or years from now, let’s stop procrastinating; let’s take action now while we are still in the moment, while we are still in the NOW. :)
